What Iverjohn 12 Is Used For

How to Take Iverjohn 12

Take Iverjohn 12 exactly as directed by your doctor. The dose depends on the type of infection, weight, and medical condition; never self-dose.

• Take it on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, with a full glass of water.
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or break it.
• Typically, a single dose is sufficient for many infections, but your doctor may prescribe a second dose after a few months for onchocerciasis or a short course for scabies. Complete the full regimen even if you feel better.

Missed Dose & Overdose

• Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not double doses to make up.
• Overdose: An overdose may lead to severe symptoms such as stupor, tremors, seizures, or coma. Seek emergency medical help or call a poison control center immediately.

How it works

Ivermectin works by binding to and activating glutamate-gated chloride channels in the nerve and muscle cells of parasites.
