How to Take Covimectin 12

Take Covimectin 12 exactly as your doctor has directed. The tablet is usually taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• Take it at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal for best absorption.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or break it.
• Complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. For certain infections, a single dose may be sufficient, but your doctor will decide.

Missed Dose & Overdose

• Missed dose: Take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose to catch up.

How it works

Ivermectin, the active ingredient in Covimectin 12, works by interfering with the nerve and muscle functions of parasites. It binds to specific channels in the parasite’s cells, causing paralysis and death of the organism. This effectively clears the infection from the body. Specifically, ivermectin enhances the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) at presynaptic neurons and binds to glutamate-gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, leading to hyperpolarization, paralysis, and death of the parasite.
